Privacy and about

Movie Night is a small, private, non-commercial app for one family and a few friends.

What stays private

Your film ratings and watch history are private from other members and guests. Group suggestions only use your ratings if you choose to join that group, and they never show which films you rated or how.

In very small groups, someone could sometimes guess at a person's taste from a combined score. We keep group explanations short for that reason, but we can't promise that guessing is impossible.

What other people can see

For a movie night you're invited to, other invitees can see your film votes, whether you can make each showing, and your comments. These are separate from your private ratings.

Who can see the database

The app itself keeps your ratings private, but the person who runs Movie Night (the project operator) can technically read everything stored in its database, including ratings. Please keep that in mind.

What Movie Night doesn't do

  • No ads, and your data isn't sold or shared for marketing.
  • No AI-generated images, and no AI chatbot reading your ratings.
  • Match scores are a ranking, not a promise you'll enjoy a film.

This is an early preview. Nothing is stored yet, and this page will be updated before anyone is invited.
